Text

John C. Hart Memorial Library recently received a donation from the Irish-American Social Club of Northern Westchester and Putnam Counties to purchase additional books on the history and culture of Ireland. As in previous years, the new books purchased with the donation will be marked with a bookplate noting the gifting of the Social Club.

In accepting the contribution, Hart Library Director Pat Barresi said, "We are pleased that the Irish-American Club continues to contribute to the community by donating funds to enhance our book collection on Irish culture and history." The aims of the Irish-American Club are to foster Irish culture in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties and bring kinship and cooperation to people of Irish descent.

Hart Library, Yorktown's Community Library, located at 1130 East Main Street in Shrub Oak, is open from 9:30 am to 8 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30 to 5 on Fridays and Saturdays, and on Sundays from 1 to 5 pm. Information 245-5262.
