the community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mr. John Anderson who died on Sunday, June 1st, at the Mount Kisco Hospital at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Anderson had been a patient at the Hospital for about one week with a fractured hip.
Mr. Anderson, a retired merchant, was 74 years of age. He had lived in Shrub Oak for the past twenty-six years and conducted a general store until a few months ago. Mr. Anderson was born in Sweden, January 2, 1878, the son of August and Matilda Anderson.
Mr. Anderson's wife, Hally Anderson, died February 12th, 1952.
He was a member of Worth Lodge No. 210, F and A. M.
Surviving are one daughter, Ethel M. Anderson, a teacher at the Yorktown School, and one sister, Anna Anderson, who both reside at Shrub Oak.
The E. O. Curry Funeral Hom, 313 North James Street, is in charge of the funeral. Services were held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ernest E. Edmond, pastor of the Methodist Church of Lakeville, Connecticut officiating. Interment was made in the Shrub Oak Cemetary.
