Yorktown Girl Scout Kelsey McDonnell,14, has partnered with Patricia Hallinan, director ofJohn C. Hart Library, for Women's History Month.
Her project-called "It's Your World-Change It!"-will be on display at the library through March. Its goal is to bring awareness to young women about "girl power." Girl power is used to describe female empowerment, independence and self-sureness.
Kelsey's project displays characteristics to help girls and young women feel confident in themselves and their situations.
Completing this project, Kelsey will begin to work towards her Girl Scout Gold Award.
