Yorktown resident Ralph Pasacrita has been appointed to the John C. Hart Memprial Library Board of Trustees to fill out tll las three years (to 1999) ot the term of recently resigned member Carol Franks-Randall.
Raised in Mamaronect. Pasacrlta lived in Yorktown from 1977-1982 and! returned with his family in 1987 after living in califomia for a few years.
He is assistant director of Administration and chief fiscal officer of SASC (Student Assistance Services Corp. ). a not-for-profit organization in Ardsley that provides substance and alcohel abuse counselors to high schools and middle schools in Westchester County. Supplementing tbe counselors already available in school districts, SASC' s emphasis is on prevention and early intervention.
Married with two boys. Michael, 13, and and Gregory, 9. both of whom attend Yorktown schools, Pasacrtta and his wife, Debby believe a strong publlc library is one of the greatest assets a community can have and is an important part of every family."
Pasacrita indicated he sought nomination to the Board to help strengthen Hart Library even further. By protecting it during these times of shrinking budgets, he said. was one way to give samethtng back to the community where he bas benefited so much during his lifetime.
